ArtSmarts Column by Carol Heppner

My new column, ArtSmarts, will appear in every other issue of Scrap and Stamp Arts (Scott Publications). I'd love to hear from you about the projects in the article. Email me today.

I'm very excited about the Feb 2007 ArtSmarts column.... and I know you will love it. I'll show you how to create three different Scrapbooking handbags - one for casual attire - the other two for dressy occasions.

The article came about after I had sticker shock seeing a photograph tote bag in my local market. Yes, the bag could be personalized with your own photo for about $99.00. But, I could thing of a lot more I could do with $99.00!! I thought you could too.

My Scrapbooking Handbag article will show you how you can use your own printers to create wonderful traveling works of art. And, you can do it inexpensively... avoiding sticker shock. Best part is that it is supper easy to create these purses. Pick up the article today!

Craft and Hobby Association Show in CA

CHA Designers were invited to produce projects for three displays in the outside hall. I thought you'd like to see my three entries. These are table top collages that are created on pressed paper blocks. The background papers use Jacquards inkjet fabric papers and are secured to the paper with Duncan's fabric glue.

Emma Rose is in the library room and this project has a very earthy feel to it. Emma is our youngest and loves to sit in this hand basket. This project uses paint, wire, beads and buttons to pull this look together.

You'll find my husband, Paul, on in this project. Polymer clay was used to create the star fish and other sea life on this collage. The buttons used in this project were found at the dollar store.

As soon as I know when these projects will be in print, I'll let you know. Come back and visit often to find out.
