Art Smarts by Carol Heppner

Color
Ever wonder what colors to use in your projects? Then pick up my May Art Smarts! Column in Scrap and Stamp Arts. You will learn how to combine colors like a professional. Then you will use that knowledge to create a Book of Days. You can use this template to create the Book of Days to record important dates in your life - or use the template to create an album or book. This book of days makes a wonderful gift (It's not too early to think about making Christmas gifts). It's also a great way to teach students about color. There are other great articles in the May issue - this one is a keeper!

Backgrounds
The June Art Smarts! Column in Scrap and Stamp Arts shows you how to Take Better Photographs of Children. However, you can also use these tips and techniques with pets and general photography. There are four scrapbook layouts that can also be used as greeting cards. There is also a mini, folded book that can be used for photographs or collages.

June's issue will also show you how to use Jacquard's Castaway ink pad to create great background papers. It gives you the look of Clorox stamping, but without the fumes so you can breath easier. This issue is also full of background techniques that you will love to use with all your paper arts projects.

Scrap and Stamp Arts is known to give you quality projects and techniques that you will want to keep in your paper arts library. The projects and techniques featured in Scrap and Stamp Arts can be used in a multitude of paper art projects and altered to fit your personal style. Pick up a copy today!

Learn how you can make the angel in the above slide show. It uses paper clay and one rubber stamp. It's super easy, it may not look it, but it is. Look for this article in an upcoming issue of Polymer Cafe, Scott Publications.
